Triangle Expressway

This $1 billion project is the largest single transportation infrastructure project in North Carolina, and Mulkey has been involved in many aspects of it. Stretching nearly 19 miles, this is the state’s first toll road. In just 18 months, Mulkey prepared the environmental documents—a process that typically requires seven years to complete. We prepared roadway designs for the 3.4-mile Triangle Parkway portion, CEI quality assurance for the entire Expressway and survey services. This project showcases our multidisciplinary capabilities to efficiently take a project from the planning stage through construction, with a very aggressive schedule using our planners, biologists, roadway engineers, structure engineers and hydraulic engineers. Mulkey also led the public involvement effort of more than 30 meetings with stakeholders and community groups.
