Walnut Creek Elementary School

Walnut Creek Elementary is an elementary school prototype for the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) located on a 19.77-acre site. Mulkey provided erosion control design for the proposed education building and parking lots, with the most sensitive area to protect being the existing Neuse Buffer. Stormwater drainage piping and quantity and quality control best management practices (BMPs) were incorporated into the design. Mulkey also provided utility designs for the extension of potable waterline (approximately 1,600 linear feet) and sanitary sewer (approximately 1,000 linear feet). Mulkey Roadway drawings indicating the required road improvements to Sunnybrook Road were provided by Mulkey. In addition, Mulkey worked closely with the City of Raleigh on their in-house construction drawings of Rock Quarry Road improvements.
