Mulkey helped design this unique, cross-disciplinary instructional center that provides education and training to develop skilled biomanufacturing professionals. The 82,500 square-foot center, the largest of its kind in the world, features
more than $12.5 million of industry-standard equipment and a simulated cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) pilot plant facility able to produce biopharmaceutical products using cell growth and expression, recovery, and purification processes in a sterile environment. Mulkey designed the potable water and sanitary sewer extensions and connections to the proposed building, on-site stormwater treatment and storage, and the soil and erosion control measures for the site and the contractor lay-down area. Mulkey also obtained all permits associated with site development.
