I-40 Design Build

Asheville, NC

The project widened an existing four-lane, two-way divided interstate highway into an eight-lane, two-way divided facility, replacing existing bridges over a railroad and the Smoky Mountain Parkway in Asheville, N.C. Traffic was maintained during work. The project features sound walls whose face was cast to include impression of mountains, clouds and leaves.
