Wake County Sheriff’s Training Facility

This $4 million, state-of-the-art facility will assist the Sheriff’s Office in providing both mental and physical training to new recruits and existing officers. Mulkey performed the structural analysis and design, prepared the structural documents and provided construction administration for this new 38,400 square foot two-story training facility. It has a shallow foundation system with a steel-framed roof and floor and CMU shear walls. Mulkey also designed the structure for a wood-framed repelling training tower, a storage building and a 500-square-foot gas training pavilion. The storage building and the gas-training pavilion are constructed of CMU-bearing walls with steel-framed roofs.
