Mulkey Named one of the Healthiest Employers in the Triangle 2011

Raleigh, NC—Dec. 12, 2011— Mulkey Engineers & Consultants (Mulkey) was recently recognized as one of The Healthiest Employers of the Triangle 2011 at an awards presentation sponsored by the Triangle Business Journal. The award honors organizations committed to making wellness a priority by supporting and encouraging their employees’ health. Mulkey, along with 19 other local companies, was presented with the award on Dec. 8 at the Raleigh Marriott at Crabtree.

Mulkey introduced a company-wide wellness initiative for the first time in 2011, providing employees with healthy activities and programs throughout the year. “We wanted to demonstrate our commitment to the overall health and well-being of our employees through this initiative,” said Candace Whisenant, Mulkey’s Human Resources Manager. “We’ve also instilled positive lifestyle changes throughout the company.”

Prior to the awards presentation, attendees were able to participate in a Wellness Fair featuring local wellness groups that offered health screenings, flu shots and spa treatments. During the presentation, a select group of decision-makers from these companies shared with the audience how they demonstrate innovation and leadership in their wellness programs.
